American
Orchid Society Announces Partnership with Sun Bulb Company,
Inc.
Delray
Beach, FL --
October
5, 2006 The American Orchid Society (AOS) is
pleased to announce a new partnership with one of the premier
orchid firms in the nation. Sun Bulb Company Inc.,
headquartered in Arcadia, Florida, has been growing and
distributing orchids and BETTER-GRO orchid supplies for more
than 50 years. Throughout this half-century, Sun Bulb has
tested and developed some of the most effective potting
mediums and fertilizers for growing different types of
orchids, and the AOS is proud to offer its endorsement of
Better-Gro potting mixes and fertilizers.
“Over 85 years, the AOS name has come to mean quality
instructive offerings and superb member and customer
service,” states Art Moore, the Society’s President. “We
take very seriously consideration of lending our good name to
products, and we’re delighted and confident that partnering
with Sun Bulb in this venture will superbly compliment not
only the AOS’s educational mission, but also greatly enhance
the opportunity to put solid products in the hands of orchid
growers across the country.”
“The BETTER-GRO family is thrilled to partner with the AOS
in this venture,” states Tom Hollingsworth, President of Sun
Bulb Co. “Our Better-Gro mixes and fertilizer formulations
are used by home gardeners as well as our orchid growers in
our nurseries and are proven successful and effective. Teaming
with a world-class educational organization such as the AOS is
a natural alliance for Sun Bulb’s Better-Gro orchid supplies
and we’re excited about this opportunity.”
The AOS logo and Web site contact information will appear on
the following BETTER-GRO products: 4 and 8 quart special
orchid mixes; 8 quart phalaenopsis mix; 8 quart orchid bark;
1/8 BU. vanda mix; orchid moss; 1 pound orchid plus
fertilizer; and 1 pound orchid plus bloom booster. The AOS
will disseminate information concerning the endorsed Sun Bulb
products through various communication vehicles at the
organization’s disposal, including its award-winning Orchids
magazine and its popular Web site (www.aos.org), as well as
offer Sun Bulb’s products through its headquarters in Delray
Beach, Florida — the AOS Visitors Center and Botanical
Garden.
Sun Bulb Company was founded by AP and Mildred Hollingsworth
1956. Over the years, this third-generation family business
has grown with the orchid industry, distributing Better-Gro
garden products throughout North and South America. These
products are found at major garden retailers and independent
garden centers — see www.better-gro.com
for a retail outlet in your area.
The
American Orchid Society, founded in 1921, is the largest
special-interest horticultural organization in the world. The
nonprofit organization’s goals are to extend the knowledge,
production, preservation, use and appreciation of orchids. The
AOS
Web site — the one-stop e-shop for quality orchid
information — receives more than 3 million hits per month,
making it the #1 Internet site for orchids (Google keyword
“orchids”). The AOS is the premier authority for orchids
for all matter of audiences (governments, the horticultural
and orchid industries, affiliated societies, the national and
international media, etc.). The AOS has more than 400
affiliated orchid societies and organizations around the world
to which the organization is a reliable and constant source of
information.
